A Fairy Song

A Fairy Song :

Over hill, over dale,

Thorough bush, thorough brier,

Over park, over pale,

Thorough flood, thorough fire!

I do wander everywhere,

Swifter than the moon's sphere;

And I serve the Fairy Queen,

To dew her orbs upon the green;

The cowslips tall her pensioners be;

In their gold coats spots you see;

Those be rubies, fairy favors;

In those freckles live their savors;

I must go seek some dewdrops here,

And hang a pearl in every cowslip's ear.

About the Author

William Shakespeare was a renowned English poet, playwright, and actor born in 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon. His birthday is most ordinarily celebrated on 23 April (see When was Shakespeare born), which is additionally believed to be the date he died in 1616.

Shakespeare was a prolific writer during the Elizabethan and Jacobean ages of British theatre (sometimes called English Renaissance or the first Modern Period). Shakespeare’s plays are perhaps his most enduring legacy, but they're not all he wrote. Shakespeare’s poems also remain popular to the present day.

Shakespeare's Work
Shakespeare's works include 38 plays, 2 narrative poems, 154 sonnets, and a spread of other poems. No original manuscripts of Shakespeare's plays are known to exist today. it's actually because of a gaggle of actors from Shakespeare's company that we've about half the plays in the least . They collected them for publication after Shakespeare died, preserving the plays. These writings were brought together in what's referred to as the primary Folio ('Folio' refers to the dimensions of the paper used). It contained 36 of his plays, but none of his poetry.

Shakespeare’s legacy is as rich and diverse as his work; his plays have spawned countless adaptations across multiple genres and cultures. His plays have had an everlasting presence on stage and film. His writings are compiled in various iterations of the entire Works of Shakespeare , which include all of his plays, sonnets, and other poems. Shakespeare continues to be one among the foremost important literary figures of English language.
